Who is this Crazy Woman?

I’m a woman. living in Saudi. ’nuff said.

I’m tired of not being able to get behind the wheel I’m tired of being hostage to someone with a lower IQ than I and I’m tired of worrying about my car and my life being held in the hands of someone who was probably exposed to cars for the first time in his life sometime last week.

So I decided to start this blog to document my feelings and thoughts on this issue. The day-to-day retarded situations that force you to laugh because otherwise you’d cry. There is a saying in Arabic that says “shar al baleyya ma yud7ek” ( شر البلية ما يضحك). Loosely translated it means: “The worst of Afflictions is that which makes you laugh”

If you are a woman living (or have lived) in Saudi, I’d love to hear Some of your stories too! Whenever I get together with other girls and this topic comes up (which it invariably does) i hear the craziest, most ridiculous, funniest stories. I want you all to share them here, or e-mail me at driverdiariesksa@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to publish it for you. Don’t worry about your writing, if you really want me to I can polish it up and make some basic edits. Even publish it anonymously, whatever you want!

I’m hoping that swapping stories will unite us in a way that only shared misery does. Like the saying goes: Misery loves company.

So does a party 😀

انطق انت بجهلك. لمن تعرف تتناقش بدون ما ترمي بسميات مستهلكة ما تعرف معناها اتفضل.

well honey….. not driving should be the least of your worries.

      really?? what should be?

I once read an article that said that most people quit their jobs because of their direct manager. no matter how good their package is, if the person that they deal with everyday makes their lives miserable, they will quit their jobs because nothing is worth that daily stress.
same applies to driving. its the little things that add daily stress to my life that i’m complaining about the most, and what has affected my own life the most. I could always get into judicial rights and legal status and traveling permission and child custody and divorce, but honestly i don’t think i’m qualified to talk about any of those, there are plenty of other blogs that are already doing that, and i don’t want to get that serious.
This blog is to laugh about an annoying situation, share those little weird stories we all have, not collect petitions or anything.

You are my idol! I bow to thee!

My current driver has an IQ of 37.
My last driver was a pimp.
The one before him smoked hashish.
And the one before that one used to blow snot-rockets out of his nose all over my driveway.

    Let’s write a book.
